REPORT: 
On Saturday 27th January we started with a late pushback against Bury 2s. The game began very evenly until they went ahead with a short corner goal, but we were quick to respond with a quick counter and Charlie lifting it through the keeper. Next some cards were given so with nine men we had to go defensive, and we held out. After half time we were still dominating defensively even with 9 men at one point again both defending short corners and not letting Bury in our circle very much. Sadly, we just could not take our chances up top, but we kept playing till the final whistle. The match ended 1-1. Well played boys and looking forward to next week.

REPORT: 
Away at Goals on a a windy wet afternoon against Dragons 2s. We started off strong by going a goal up in the first five minutes by Charlie at the back post, an excellent start. We carried our strong momentum by defending well and getting more chances until we won a short corner and managed to make it count 2-0 up. Half time. Unfortunately, in the second half near the start we conceded an early goal as Dragons came out strong. Under the cosh but with lots of committed defence especially by Ross with a sliding slap clearance. Eventually we were able to breakthrough Dragons’ defence with a great pass from Hindle to Adie who unselfishly squared it to Cory to put in the bottom corner which relieved the pressure. But Dragons were quite quick to respond with a short corner goal. With a few minutes to go we were able to hold out to win the game 3:2. Well done boys and good luck for next week.

LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 2 NORTH EAST

RESULT: City 3s 2 - 1 Pelicans 2s 
 
REPORT: 
On a sunny Saturday 11th of November at Taverham we played Pelicans 2s. With morale high we started the first five minutes a bit shaky but thankfully Tom F made saves to keep us at 0-0. But not much time after we found ourselves one goal down with little time played. With good open play, except the backsticks, despite going down a goal we were able to find a few chances in the opposition circle and a goal was scored by Adie. With this momentum we kept pushing on forward winning short corners but did not manage to put any away until the last one. Tom H calmly pushed the ball into the bottom left corner. Half-time. 
 
In the second half we were mostly in Pelican’s half but we just could not score. Our defending meant they had little chances at goal. The game finished 2-1 – a good win for today and well played everyone. 

MENS 3RD XI - 23/09/2023 VS SUDBURY 1 (A)

LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 2 NORTH EAST

RESULT: 6-0 
 
REPORT: The scoreline indicates a very one sided game. However in places it was very competitive with Paul Gallop and Kit Pallister working hard in midfield. 
 
Sudbury did press well and Harry Ingham Tom Hindle and Malcolm Jewers all made good tackles and Tom Franks made some magical saves. NCHC3s contributed to their own downfall regularly passing the ball to the Sudbury front line.  
 
Upfront the chances were limited but NCHC3s were unable to take the opportunities when they arose.
