W (4-1) 05/09/2020 - M4 vs Bury St Edmunds 4 (A / F) CITY TAKE IT TO THE 'MAX' |
---|
MENS 4TH XI - 05/09/2020 VS BURY ST EDMUNDS 4 (A) TEAM: Mens 4th XI DATE: 05/09/2020 FIXTURE: Mens 4th XI VS 05/09/2020 HEADLINE: City Take it to the 'Max' LEAGUE: Friendly VENUE: Culford School RESULT: Bury St Edmunds M4's 1:4 NCHC M4's REPORT: A marked contrast in weather brought the sun out in Suffolk, and a youthful City side of 4th and some 5th teamers took on Bury 4's at Culford School Captains Frosty & Ed Cotton, together with Manager Haren came under early pressure before the start trying to establish the difference between Max Wilson & Max McEwan. This problem went on throughout the match and has continued to haunt a forgetful Frosty this evening as I'm pretty sure I've put the wrong Max on the score sheet! Anyway - a quick summary of the game as follows; The midfield General that is Krishna Patel opened the scoring with a well taken drag flick from a short corner and CIty were deservedly ahead at the break 1-0 City's pace was too hot too handle in the second half and it was obvious Bury were tiring. Max Wilson (definitely!) doubled City's lead with an unstoppable reverse from the left side of the 'D', 2-0 Bury got one back at a short corner, but undeterred, City soon scored again. This time it was Max Mcewan who supplied the killer pass for Ethan Rushton to score through he Bury keeper's legs, 3-1 Finally, it was left to MOTM Max McEwan to put Glenn Tobias through to coolly slide the ball past the onrushing keeper for a deserved 4-1 win Notable mentions go to Harvey Nkrumah, Dan Jeffers, Sam Hancock and Ollie Millett for their tireless work in the central and high areas of the pitch. Can't wait for next week away at Dereham 3's
