WOMENS 3RD XI - 20/10/2018 VS PELICANS 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 3rd XI DATE: 20/10/2018 FIXTURE: Womens 3rd XI VS 20/10/2018 HEADLINE: FIve goals again LEAGUE: NORFOLK PREMIER DIVISION LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham (h) RESULT: 5-1 (w) REPORT: Norwich City women's 3s hosted Pelicans 2's on Saturday, and racked up five goals for the second week in a row. City started with almost all of the possession in the first half, but only converting chances into one goal from striker Olivia Greenway. Pelican's goal keeper had a superb individual performance, keeping the hosts at bay. Her team then levelled the score with a goal from captain Tracy McGovern, making it 1-1 going into the halftime break. City came back out fighting and upped their game, turning opportunities into points. Effie Bowley started the run of goals by using her fantastic stick skills to beat Pelican's keeper. Olivia got her second and the team's third, followed by another score from player of the match Kate Houldey, and a second and final goal from Effie. City were slick and convincing, deservedly coming away 5-1.

LEAGUE: NORFOLK PREMIER DIVISION LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE:Taverham RESULT:Womens 4s, 0 - UEA 3 REPORT:This week City Womens 4's hosted UEA 2's at home. It was a bright and sunny morning and with the sun on City's backs they started well. They moved the ball well and dominated possession, however, failed to find the backboard. 0-0 at half time and UEA came back rearing to go. They got an early goal and shortly followed it up with another from a short corner. Norwich had some valiant defending efforts but couldn't keep a third goal out. An unfortunate raised strike on goal found the face of a UEA defender and with 20 seconds left on of the game it was decided to call it there. 3-0 to UEA. POTM awarded to Gillian Allen

WOMENS 6TH XI - 20/10/2018 VS LODDON 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 6th XI DATE: 20/10/2018 FIXTURE: Womens 6th XI VS 20/10/2018 HEADLINE: Tough but lots to learn LEAGUE: NORFOLK LEAGUE DIVISION 2 LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: TRF RESULT: 1-4 REPORT: This friendly match saw City field a mix up team of half and half 6s and 7s players, one five's player in centre midfield and a junior keeper playing her first adult women's match. Loddon arrived with a strong team, so it was a tough match for City. Loddon made wave after wave of attack and knocked City off the ball when they tried to head back towards the opposition goal. However, despite the score line, City played well and began to get a measure of Loddon in the second half, staying stronger and pushing up more. Eventually, City broke through and a long ball from right midfield to the left wing was crossed in and netted beautifully by Jess Borges. Loddon continued to attack mercilessly but were mostly held at bay on the line by an amazing performance from junior keeper Sophia Colman, who was voted player of the match.

L (1-5) 20/10/2018 - M2 vs Sudbury 1 (A / L) GOOD GAME BUT BEATEN BY THE BETTER SIDE |

MENS 2ND XI - 20/10/2018 VS SUDBURY 1 (A) TEAM: Mens 2nd XI DATE: 20/10/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 2nd XI VS 20/10/2018 HEADLINE: Good game but beaten by the better side LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 1 VENUE: Sudbury RESULT: 5-1 Loss The match this week was against a Sudbury 1st team, away at their lovely pitch, with only 12 players, due to Sam B and Jez being taken by the 1st team. We knew it was going to be a hard 70 minutes due to info from the previous game. On a very warm autumn day, the match started well with both teams showing lots of compassion and hard work, we were caught out by a counter-attack with their first goal putting them 1-0 up. However, City picked themselves back up and got one goal back through Ben Withers. Unfortunately, Sudbury got three more goals in the first half. We had a few chances which we could have scored from but we could just not finish on the day. Half time 4-1 After a very motivational speech from Hindle at half time, the squad came out wanting another goal, but the Sudbury team defended well to keep us from scoring and attacked us on the counter-attack. The last 20 minutes of the match City dominated possession and for the most part looked like the better side but Sudbury capitalized on another of their counter-attacks, which the city defense and Millett could just not save. The final score was 5-1, but it could have been a lot closer. Never-the-less the squad that traveled did very well and played as a cohesive squad with good communication and work rate. Full time 5-1 POTM: Tom Bailey TYFC: Plumby

L (0-5) 20/10/2018 - M3 vs Norwich Dragons 1 (A / L) MENS 3S POOR FIRST HALF IS THERE DOWN FALL! |

MENS 3RD XI - 20/10/2018 VS NORWICH DRAGONS 1 (A) TEAM: Mens 3rd XI DATE: 20/10/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 3rd XI VS 20/10/2018 HEADLINE: Mens 3s poor first half is there down fall! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 2 NORTH VENUE: The Den RESULT: 0-5 Loss REPORT: With a slightly depleted team this week, the Mens 3s took on Dragons 1s who were up for it from the start, some lack luster defending in the first half left a lot to be desired with the team 4-0 down at the break. A much improve 2nd half performance gave City some hope going forward as one fluky reverse stick goal was all Dragons could muster as City had much more of the ball and chances in the 2nd half. City's youngsters Rafe Lochore, Sam Hyatt and Toby Pallistar can all be proud of their performances and it is great to see youngsters at this early age playing so well. The future looks bright!

MENS 4TH XI - 20/10/2018 VS WATTON 1 (H) TEAM: Mens 4th XI DATE: 20/10/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 4th XI VS 20/10/2018 HEADLINE: Patel Double gets City 4's back to winning ways LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Won 4-0 REPORT: Norwich City Men's 4th XI got back to winning ways against Watton 1's on a beautiful Taverham afternoon. City had their usual mixture of youth and experience, with debutant Joseph Roy fitting in perfectly in the midfield. Rio Iaccarino and Alex Tomkinson were a constant threat to Watton's defence and Eddie Darley in City's goal never looked troubled on his way to a clean sheet Goals came in the first half from the experienced heads of Patel and Land. The first from an unstoppable drag flick at a short corner, the second via a calm slap from close range, high into the net. Second half goals came via a Patel stroke after Circuit was up-ended in the 'D' when about to pull the trigger. The second was possibly a little fortuitous when the Watton GK failed to stop a mis-hit Konieczny shot. Joe doesn't mind how they go in, as long as he beats his wife Aimee's tally by the end of the season! Overall a well-deserved win for City and some great performances, none more so than from Joseph Roy whose tenacity, hard work and creative play rightfully earned him the Man of the Match award
