REPORT:
Another win!
Emily Holloway made NCHC 3’s intentions clear from the first touch of the game by powering skilfully through the whole Dereham team to earn a penalty corner. Four corners later, we were disappointed not to have scored. Dereham also attacked well but our defence kept out any danger. Most notably, our on-pitch captain, Longy, was inspirational in shutting down the runs of one of their talented forwards. Following a period of intense pressure by NCHC, Helen Brockington was able to fire home a loose ball in the D. Half-time involved a tactical talk from Ali and encouragement from our Captain Claire. The second half saw an incredible run by Emily Winter, taking the ball along the back line and then slipping to Emma Hewitt who confidently scored to give us a 2-0 lead. Dereham did not give up but again our defenders held firm and our screens Liv Broadway, Danni Sizer and Maddie Anthony dominated the middle of the pitch. The icing on the cake came near the end of the game where a well worked short corner resulted in a powerful shot from Maddie Anthony giving us a 3-0 lead and to our delight (and surprise!) our 4th consecutive league win (out of 4) and still top of the league!
Player of the Match went to Evie Brockington.

REPORT:
We turned up with only one sub and were ready for a tough but good run around. We were pleasantly surprised Harleston also only had one sub, and all of a sudden we really rather fancied our chances.

We had good possession, passed the ball around and kept the opposition on their toes.

Unfortunately, Harleston got a short corner and were able to convert it, but city didnt let it phase them. We fought back and with a beautiful run up the left wing, Lola found the back of their goal and we were drawing going in to half time.

The first half had gone so well we chose to scrap the rotation for the 2nd half and repeat the fiest sub rotation.

Energy was high, we kept spirits and energy up till the end and finished 1-1.

REPORT: The Longest away day of the year was met with bright sunshine on a weirdly scorching October day.
Caught napping off the bus and we were 1-0 down inside 3 minutes of play. And after a pair of drag flicks were saved by Alastair Cooke the team finally awoke and showed some thereat with a few D entries but nothing to trouble the scoreboard.
City took over in Q2 and sent the crowd quiet. First came Elliot Hibell forcing a quality save from Stourports very own A Cooke before Cameron Cooke won and scored a penalty stroke. Soon after he was winning and scoring a short corner and the comeback was complete. HT: 2-1.
Q3 was measured and controlled with a trio of short taken by Stourport but Russ and the post men stopping anything from entering the goal.
Q4 started poorly with Stourport playing a long ball down the line and with an easy pass into the p-spot and first time finish they had drawn themselves back into the tie. We then proceeded to receive a yellow card for a bad tackle from Harry Gill and the momentum had totally swung the other way. City saw the 5 minutes out and then pushed for the winner. A Josh Baker reverse went just wide, an Elliot Hibell drag flick went just wide and then Josh Baker stepped up and dribbled around 4 men and the rebound fell to an unmarked Dave Gilbert which saw the summer signing scored his first league goal for the yellows.
3-2 win, well deserved, could've been easier but 3 points is 3 points and we were off bottom and ended Stourports 54 match unbeaten streak!
