WOMENS 4TH XI - 18/10/2025 VS DEREHAM 3 (H) TEAM: Womens 4th XI DATE: 18/10/2025 FIXTURE: Womens 4th XI VS 18/10/2025 HEADLINE: Jessica White hits a hatrick as City hold strong [Norwich City Womens 4’s Vs Dereham] LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 3 NORTH EAST (NORTH) VENUE: Taverham High School RESULT: 3-0 REPORT: The womens 4’s took on Dereham this week on home turf. Keen to keep climbing the table and after a motivational talk from captain Wiktoria the womens came out ready to go. The team came out strong, starting to build some momentum with composure and transfers along the back line, which then earned Jess her first goal just 8 minutes into the first half. The hard graft from the attacking line, with great pace from Wiktoria and Charlotte added more pressure to Dereham defence. Maddie did a great job adjusting to the middle of pitch, with some important interceptions and distribution of the ball. Jess then once again proved her goal scoring skills getting her second cracking goal before the half time whistle. With a quick sugar refuel and some wise words from Pies the girls went back out ready for more. Frustration grew, which saw a few greens and yellows being shown and a firm warning about clean and fair tackles. However this did allow for City to gain some short corners in their favour. The womens put their training into practice and with Simran injecting a fast ball to Izzie at the top of the D, she slipped it left to Jess who earned her hatrick by pushing it into the bottom corner past the keeper. Dereham then fought back and had some chances to break down the middle, but with great communication the defensive work from Jen, Ellie and Lucy swiftly shut them down. The match ended with a solid win of 3-0, securing the Womens place towards the top of the table.

We got off to a strong start, with Sue opening the scoring from a short corner – a clean, direct strike that put us ahead early. Evergreens responded with a goal of their own to level things before the break. At half-time, Anna and Vicky gave an inspiring team talk that helped to motivate and refocus the group, as well as changing to a more attacking formation for the second half. The message clearly landed – we came out well in the second half. Maddie restored the lead with a tidy finish, and Vicky added the third to give us breathing space and see out the match. There were strong performances across the pitch. Charlotte worked tirelessly in midfield, always making herself available and linking play well, while Sim was a constant threat up front and showed her usual versatility. Tamsin braved a ball to the face and continued to cover the middle of the pitch well! The defending was very strong from everyone throughout the match, and Ellie had a great game – stepping in front of players and keeping things under control at the back. It was a good team effort all round and a great way to start the weekend. Thanks to Evergreens for a competitive game – and an excellent match tea afterwards! WOMENS 4TH XI - 04/10/2025 VS WATTON 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 4th XI DATE: 04/10/2025 FIXTURE: Womens 4th XI VS 04/10/2025 HEADLINE: NCHC L4 v Watton 2's LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 3 NORTH EAST (NORTH) VENUE: Taverham High School RESULT: 3 -1 (win) A (windy) game of 2 halves Norwich City battled the elements and a tough first half to come out 3–1 winners against Watton in a windy and hard-fought match. Emma stepped up brilliantly as captain, leading by example with a calm presence and strong defending throughout the game. The first half wasn’t our finest – we were lacking energy and didn’t quite seem to believe in ourselves, which made it hard to find any rhythm or control in the game. Watton took their chance and went 1–0 up, leaving us a bit frustrated going into half time. But Pies delivered a motivational team talk that lifted the whole squad. We came back out with new energy, sharper focus, and way more bite. Amber was relentless up front and her pressure won us three short corners. Jess made the most of the first one, calmly putting it away to level the score. Shortly after, Sue stepped up and smashed home a brilliant straight strike from the top of the D to give us the lead. Jess then added her second of the day to make it 3–1, showing great positioning and cool finishing under pressure. At the back, Lucy was a rock – strong tackles and also totally composed under pressure. Alongside the rest of the defence, she helped shut down Watton’s attacks and kept us in control once we’d taken the lead. All in all, it was a game of two halves – a shaky start, but a brilliant response and a full team performance in the second half. Bring on the next one!
