WOMENS 3RD XI - 08/09/2018 VS HARLESTON MAGPIES 4 (H) TEAM: Womens 3rd XI DATE: 08/09/2018 FIXTURE: Womens 3rd XI VS 08/09/2018 HEADLINE: NCHC womens 3s ready for the new season LEAGUE: NORFOLK PREMIER DIVISION LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: TRF RESULT: 0-2 (L) REPORT: City entered into a challenging match against a physical and goal-hungry Magpies 4s team on Saturday. From first push back, however, City had the best of the play, upping their game as the match unfolded and the new line-up began to gel as a team. City worked hard to keep possession, launching wave after wave of attack but unfortunately were unable to find the back of the net. A determined Magpies side used their pace to accelerate towards the goal after any ball turnover and took full advantage of the opportunities they created in City’s D to net two goals in this friendly pre-season match. The result doesn't reflect the strong performance from City, who no doubt have an exciting season ahead.

MENS 2ND XI - 08/09/2018 VS HARLESTON 2 / 3 (H) TEAM: Mens 2nd XI DATE: 08/09/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 2nd XI VS 08/09/2018 HEADLINE: City settle for draw in hard fought friendly against Harleston. LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 1 VENUE: Taverham H20 RESULT: 1-1 REPORT: City welcomed Harleston 2/3 to the Taverham H20 this week in a pre-season friendly. The game begun and City started well applying early pressure in the opening minutes of the game. A few early short corners for City brought chances but City were unable to capitalise. City continued to move the ball around well. Fast transfers around the back four led to city opening up spaces in wide areas and allowed city to run around the back of the Harleston defence. Stuart Wardle notably using his rapid pace to get in behind and create more chances which City were unable to put away. As the half drew to a close, Harleston had a few chances on the counter, as City began to tire, but City managed to hold out. Tom Cooke a welcomed addition to the back four ,due to the 1's not having a game, made some crucial tackles preventing Harleston getting on the score sheet. Half time 0-0 City started the second half not quite firing on all cylinders. The extra legs Harleston had brought to the game were wearing City down. After a dominant 10 minutes for Harleston they finally opened the scoring. Ben Millett made some outstanding saves in the City net preventing the opposition from increasing their lead. It wasn't till later on in the second half that City began moving the ball around nicely once more. Dan Cheesman found space in the D and finished well putting City back in the game. The closing 5 minutes were end to end, with neither side managing to grab a late goal to seal the game. Full time 1-1 POTM: Sam Bingham TYFC: Stuart Wardle (for losing his temper and trying to perform a move he looked to have learnt in a martial arts class, on an opposition player)

MENS 4TH XI - 08/09/2018 VS PELICANS 2 (H) TEAM: Mens 4th XI DATE: 08/09/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 4th XI VS 08/09/2018 HEADLINE: City 4's off to a good start VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Won 5-0 REPORT: Norwich City Men's 4's got there season under way with a home friendly against Pelicans 2's. The battle of the midfield was won early, with Pyatt working tirelessly and Land oozing quality. Returning Mark Circuit dominated and fully justified his man of the match award. Evergreen Matthew Brine, now lighter and quicker than he has been for years, also put in a stellar performance alongside Kidner and Jeffers in attack. City’s pressure soon told and when Vice Captain Adie land received the ball deep and wide in Pelican's 'D', he made short work of the first defender and then shot hard and low past the keeper from an acute angle - GOAL! Circuit was next to score after Tom Cooke and Captain Ingham combined to find him unmarked in the centre circle. Circuit did the rest - a mazy run got him into the opposition 'D' and a clever finish, 2-0 The second half brought much of the same with City's defence keeping things tight and Ben Nkrumah in goal snuffing out any Pelicans chances. Further goals from Dan Jeffers, Mark Circuit & Jake Melhuish gave City a convincing 5-0 win MOTM:- Mark Circuit

MENS 6TH XI - 08/09/2018 VS NORFOLK NOMADS 2 (A) TEAM: Mens 6th XI DATE: 08/09/2018 FIXTURE: Mens 6th XI VS 08/09/2018 HEADLINE: City start the season with comfortable away win! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 5 NORTH EAST VENUE: UEA RESULT: 4-0 Win REPORT: In City's 6s first proper game of the season, it was good performance that saw them lead Nomads 2s 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from James Smith and Nigel Cushion. The second half was much the same from City and if the shooting boots were a little more accurate City would of had more goals than the two scored by John Whitlam and David Kidner. All in all a good 4-0 win to start the season. POTM: David Kidner
